Working hard and having fun
Our first team meeting and two birthdays to celebrate. Individual dietary requirements rather restricted the choice of birthday cake but people bravely smiled and insisted Leonie’s gluten free, vegan, lemon cake was ‘lovely’. Unfortunately Leonie’s son provided a more honest response when he visited and was offered a piece a few days later!
Although the picture looks completely staged, in reality it wasn’t and just shows a growing reliance on our new Office 365 network which is proving invaluable for developing systems and generally keeping in touch while we are out and about. Everyone is enjoying getting back into schools and working with youngsters. And how lovely for Jo to have a visit from a student off to university who came back to thank Jo with flowers for all her support through 13 years of working together. This is the longest Jo has worked alongside the same student, taking R. right though from KS1 to 6th Form. How rewarding and reassuring for all concerned to benefit from such a longstanding relationship – and most of all for our student R.
We’re developing our working relationships with partnership schools and are currently setting dates to join some secondary school Parent Evenings this term. We are also developing our links with parent support groups and you’ll find dates for your diary on the What’s On page on the yellow tab above.
Our main focus at the moment is planning for our collaboration with Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum next month. Drawing Diversity is a celebration of diversity, and an opportunity to draw in your own style using a range of media and look at an exhibition of local artists. Come along and create your own drawing and take part in our design a Christmas card competition. Youngsters can look out for the Boss Cat guided audio tour and find 10 different pieces of art work in the gallery. Find out more at Drawing Diversity
