Lucy Clarke

Before training to be a teacher I was a researcher in early childhood at Warwick University.

While teaching in mainstream schools, I have been a member of the senior leadership at an outstanding school in Warwickshire where I was SENCO and Inclusion Manager. I have taught a core module to students on the PGCE course at Warwick University and have a further ten years’ experience as a specialist teacher for children and young people with autism spectrum conditions.

I am especially interested in the rise in numbers of teenage girls being diagnosed with autism and the debate around delayed diagnosis; co-morbid mental health issues for those on the autism spectrum; and in supporting SENCOs in schools.

Qualifications:  BA (Hons) (First Class) Early Childhood Studies, Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Post Graduate Certificate in Special Education: Autism (Children).
