Helen Hoy

I have been a teacher for 20 years across the primary age, from nursery to year 6 and more recently in secondary school in years 7 to 9.  I initially trained as an Early Years specialist, but I had a passionate interest in working with pupils with SEND and so became a SENCo in 2012.

I have a particular interest in the relationship between autism and eating disorders and how, very often, this is misdiagnosed.  I have a daughter who is on the spectrum which has given me a particular insight into the challenges faced.
