Claire Solesbury

I have been a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for 16 years, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, Sensory Processing Disorder, Pathological Demand Avoidance, Anxiety and associated mental health difficulties.

I have worked with children and young people individually and in small groups, delivering social skills intervention programmes, life skills and study skills; always focusing on the needs and interests of the young person and offering strategies to help them survive and thrive in everyday life. After experiencing my own son’s difficulties and his diagnosis of ASC and Sensory Processing Disorder, I have been fascinated in, and passionate about helping children and young people with additional needs.

I have a keen interest in Animal Therapy and in particular, Equine Facilitated Learning, and how horses through their non-judgmental approach can help young people, to Heal, Trust and Accept.

Qualifications and professional training: SEN TA level 3, Advanced Autism Diploma, Understanding Mental Health, Lego Therapy, Comic strip conversations, Drawing and Talking.
