COVID-secure Practice Update 16/04/21
COVID-Secure Practice Update 4. 16/04/21
SEND Supported is following latest government advice given in School coronavirus (COVID-19) operational guidance, Updated 6th April 2021
SEND Supported has continued to work safely with pupils on a face-to-face basis since 2nd September 2020, with no consultant testing positive for COVID-19. This necessarily involves travel between different schools, without any requirement to work exclusively within any bubble set up in a school. The government recognises the importance of external specialist involvement in supporting learners with SEND and SEND Supported continues to comply with school arrangements for managing and minimising risk, while adhering to government guidance, as summarised below:
- ‘avoid close face to face contact and minimise time spent within 1 metre of anyone’
- ‘resources that are shared between classes or bubbles. . .should be cleaned frequently and meticulously and always between bubbles, or rotated to allow them to be left unused and out of reach for a period of 48 hours (72 hours for plastics) between use by different bubbles’
- ‘rapid testing using Lateral Flow Devices (LFD)s remains voluntary but is strongly encouraged’
- ‘ensure face coverings are used in recommended circumstances’.

The single most helpful practice we would ask you to remind your staff about is adherence to the 2m distancing rule with all adults.
